The path traveling to Nazareth in direction of Jerusalem was a familiar sight for many, although. It wound through the rolling hills and valleys filled with olive groves. Pilgrims would make the pilgrimage by donkey, stopping at small villages to rest and refreshment. The journey represented a physical movement and a spiritual one, since the travelers would make their way to Jerusalem, a place held significant meaning for them.
